GM BankruptThe news that talks between GM and Fiat are not going well is getting people in the industry to begin planning for the worst, the closure of one of the US’s big 3 auto makers. The news of pending collapse has brought some light before the storm for some dealers with some auto models selling like hotcakes before they close shops. Bad news for the autoworkers of GM for they lose their jobs and most of their benefits but the government has pledged support to get them through.
Some of the well loved brands such as Jeep and others sold more units last month than in previous months, resulting in more sales compared to many months still last year’s recession. The future is indeed uncertain for the thousands of dealerships that are expected to close as part of GM’s failure to come up with a viable solution to obtain enough funding to continue. They have been criticized for too many brands that have not been doing good all through the years but still they maintained , eventually leading to their collapse and filing for bankpruptcy protection from the government.
